I still recommend the program for those who understand what the functions can do particularly with regard to tone compression, sharpening and color contrast manipulations-addicting if you like the look it imparts to images. Despite performance issues I still highly recommend Perfect Effects because what it can do is impressive. In all honesty I see no reason to "upgrade" from 9.5 until or unless OnOne is able to improve performance of the Plug-in.

Realize we are talking about 30-60 seconds of wait time compare that to photochemical color work and the complaints seem an example of "first world problems." Unfortunately the program is quite slow as a plug-in. I still recommend the program for those who understand what the functions can do particularly with regard to tone compression, sharpening and color contrast manipulations-addicting if you like the look it imparts to images.

I could never understand why the 9.5 stand alone program was so much faster than the plug-in and never got a response from OnONe. I have gone back to using 9.5 as it is somewhat faster and I see no difference in output for the functions I use. I thought 9.5 was slow when used as a plug-in but 10 is even slower (i7 overclocked Skylake processor/16gb of RAM/overkill GPU).

I wonder if you ever merge layers, and if not, would you test it on your computer? So the problem seems to be somehow related to merging layers. Also, if I do not merge layers, the program does not quit. If after merging, I highlight the background layer and then highlight the merged layer before saving/closing, the program does not quit. If I have multiple layers in the Layers module and then merge all of the upper layers (excluding the background layer) followed by saving/closing the image, the program quits. I work with PSD files in a layered workflow. However, I think that I have isolated the problem to some degree. I had far less crashes with early beta's than I did with the shipped v9.5, and rarely a crash with later beta's and now the official release. I was using the beta of Photo 10 on Yosemite and then El Capitan. I really like the Suite, but the last two updates have been unusable on my computer, and I know I am not the only one.
Is perfect resize in on1 10 how to#
I have already sent off a message to Tech Support, but I am very pessimistic that they will have a clue how to fix things. On1 was well aware of instability issues, at least on Macs, but it appears that they have not been able to address them. The program crashes every time I close an image in Layers. I was looking forward to this new version, but I am deeply disappointed, because it is extremely unstable on my MacPro (2013) running Yosemite-just as v9.5 was. I have sent my concerns to OnOne and hopefully others will make their voices heard. Look how well Adobe's strategy worked out! Hopefully OnOne will be as quick as Adobe in backing out of this decision and will put resize back in as a standalone module (as well as in the export module if necessary) I use resize a lot from within Ps and it is now unusable.
Is perfect resize in on1 10 manual#
I can only assume that OnOne have been reading Adobe's Lightroom strategy manual and have decided that they know better than me how I want to use their product. What a load of faff for no benefit! It doesn't help that the export function doesn't seem to work, or it doesn't work the way I expect it to. That used to be simple, but it has now been ruined by the need to go into a module, call export, mess around with a bunch of settings I neither need nor want then create a new file, then open that redundant file in Photoshop. I use PhotoSuite modules from inside Photoshop and all I want is to be able to call Resize, let it do its job and return the resized image to my Ps session where I will do any final sharpening work for output (and mask off any areas I do NOT want sharpened). I also take serious issue with OnOne's decision to mess up the Resize module.
